The Tribune - 130 & going strong...

The Tribune newspaper published from Chandigarh has foxed me....I have heard of 25 years, 50 years, 75 years and 100 years of an event/organisation being celeberated, but it is the first time that I have come across an organisation celeberating 130 years of its existence with so much fanfare!

What is so special about 130, if I may ask? Or is it just seeking some publicity?

  1. Well, I would disagree with you on this one Chat.. how many publications/newspapers can lay claim to have survived a partition trauma and still remain the best selling paper of a major part of the country?

It's not a matter of publicity, it's a matter of celebration as it is no mean feat to be around and going strong even after 130 years.

I may not have received a single laddu to gorge on, but I still part of the gang when I flick through it's leaves in the morning :)
