'Unconstitutional remarks by the Hon'ble Governor of Assam'- by K.J.S.Chatrath

"Hindustan is for Hindus" says the Hon’ble Governor of Assam and goes on to add , “"Muslims in India are free to go anywhere....If they want to go to Pakistan, Bangladesh, they are free to go". http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/nation/assam-guv-s-hindustan-for-hindus-remarks-stir-row/161760.html

One wonders if the Hon’ble Governor of Assam has read the Constitution of India, to which he would have sworn allegiance, when he took the oath of office?

India is a secular state.

'Act against those creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes- follow the Indian Penal Code" - K.J.S.Chatrath

The following section of the Indian Penal Code needs to be applied - strictly and promptly, at the very first notice of such a statement:

505 (1) (C) "Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes.—Whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement or report containing rumour or alarming news with intent to create or promote, or which is likely to create or promote, on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, caste or community or any other ground whatsoever, feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both" (Emphasis supplied).
