I was surprised to read that Volvo Car Corporation is now owned by a Chinese Company. The Volvo is , is a Swedish-owned multinational which was owned by AB Volvo until 1999 when it was acquired by Ford. In 2010 Ford sold it to Zheijang Geely Holding Group, a Chinese company!

News of breaking up of anyone’s marriage is a sad affair. The latest is the splitting of the star pair of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. By the way, I rate Brad as the better actor out of the two.

Remember Angelina standing in front of a temple door in ‘Lara Croft and the tomb raiders’? It's a 12th-century site called Ta Prohm; it is otherwise known as Old Brahma and was initially named Rajavihara or the royal monastery. Now it is called by some as the Angelina Jolie Temple!

I visited Cambodia a few years back and got myself photographed a la Angelina Jolie in front of a root covered door of an old temple in Ta Prohm- the famous scene Angelina had encated in ‘Lara Croft and the tomb raiders’.

And that is me fooling around with a cut-0ut of Angelina Jolie in the Ramoji Film City outside Hyderabad, India. 

 Come on you two, Brad & Angelina- patch up!

Till recently, I, like many others, used to keep a diary wherein the birthdays and marriage annivarseraries of friends and realtives were noted. Now, like many of us again, I have out sourced this diary keeping work to Facebook.

And it gave me a jolt yesterday when I realised that I had forgotten about the birthday on August 25 of my favourite actor and the most handsome and dignified man on planet earth- Sir Thomas Sean Connery.

Happy 86th  birthday Sir Connery!

I came across the above photo of the former Prime Minister of Thailand Hon’ble  Ms.  Yingluck Shinawatra in an old January  2015 issue of The Economist. 

She is seen here as greeting her impeachers in the Legislative Assembly of Thailand when it convened to vote on her impeachment.

Skirting away from the politics of impeachment ...What civility and what dignity!
