'The New York Times writes an obituary of Madhubala & corrects its 50 year old mistake' - by K.J.S.Chatrath

 

 

 It is not often that the influential The New York Times  (NYT) admits at having made a mistake and then graciously makes up for it. This is exactly what has happened.

Since 1851, obituaries in The New York Times have been dominated by white men.

 Now, we’re adding the stories of 15 remarkable women." 

And this list of 15 includes an Indian-  Madhubala (1933-1969).  Aisha Khan has written her obituary for the NYT under the heading : "A Bollywood legend whose tragic life mirrored Marilyn Monroe’s".
