Photo of a painting at Bharat Mata Mandir, taken by me earlier in the month when I visited Varanasi. Bharat Mata Mandir is located on the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith campus in Varanasi, India. Instead of traditional statues of Gods and Goddesses, this temple has a huge map of undivided India carved in marble

'The Ides of March' is the  day in the Roman Calendar that corresponds to 15 March. It became  notorious as the date of  assassination of Julius Ceaser in 4 BC. A soothsayer says ‘Beware of the Ides of March’ in William Shakespeare’s play ‘Julius Ceaser’.

 

 

In more recent times, 'The Ides of March' is a 2011 American political drama film directed by and starring George Clooney. By the way, he is the husband of  the high profile British human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin.

I bought a 50g. refill pack of Nescafe' coffee yesterday. When the shopkeeper said Rs.115, I was surprised and didnt know how to react. A quick mental calculation told me that it works out to Rs.2,300/- per kg.

"Aiza Khan- Pakistani Tv Actress" - by K.J.S.Chatrath

I have a longish list of favourites that includes people as diverse as O.P.Nayyar, Marlon Brando, Madhubala, Al Pacino, Marcello Mastroianni, Catherine Deneueve, Sean Connery and Sophia Loren.


I have just added another name to this list- Aiza Khan, Pakistani TV actress. I watched her serial " फिर भी दो कदम दूर थे" (Phir Bhi Do Kadam Door They) on Zindagi Tv Channel and was impressed. She looks at times like Maria Sharapova and at other times like Madhubala and sometimes likes Catherine Deneueve, and acts with wonderful restraint. I am looking forward to seeing more of her serials.
