News that has shattered me.....shares K J S Chatrath

This recent news has shattered me😔...and no it is not about increase in tariff on Indian imports by the USA. Let me explain.

I am a self professed lover of samosas. I rate them as one of the tastiest and enjoyable snacks. But the the following news has shattered me.

The Tribune, Chandigarh, July 15, 2025.

I would plead that my free choice to enjoy samosas be left untouched. I have been enjoying samosas at least for the last 50 years and my weight has been steady at 67 kgs.

I am 82+ and my time left on planet earth is reducing by the day. Please let me enjoy my pleasure of samosas for my remaining days.............pleasešŸ™.

My response to heightened tariff's by USA.................KJS Chatrath

Like every Indian I too am appalled at the USA imposing very high tariffs on Indian goods. But what say do I, an old 82+ person, have ?

I have decided to vent my anger by boycotting an American product, Coca Cola and all its products.

Last time I had boycotted Coca Cola was when USA had imposed sanctions on India after the  atomic test and my boycott of Coke had lasted for over a decade.

For us in India, it is always INDIA FIRST!

'Has holding of India's NEET & JEE exams become an environment issue?' - by K J S Chatrath

Here is my humble suggestion to the iconic environmentalist Greta Thunberg who has advocated postponement of India’s NEET & JEE examinations:

Respected Ma'am......Reference your kind advice on NEET & JEE exams of India, why not keep your focus on environment and avoid trying to become an expert of everything? India is quite capable of solving its problems- big and small.
                                       With regards.....

'Come on Indian Railways' by K.J.S.Chatrath ;

Indian Railways are in the news again. Sadly, again, for wrong reasons. It is a pity that senior Railway officials travel not by train but by plane on the pretext of 'saving time'

I am 77+ and used to travel regularly on long distance trains in India during Pre-Covid times, therefore I am better qualified to talk about railways than my friends who are the air borne types.

I may start by saying that I am a great admirer of Indian railways which is doing a great job of literally connecting India.

But having said that there are some problems that need to be highlighted. I have been briefly writing about some of these in my blog. Take a look:

One hopes that things would improve, and improve soon… …
