I am a great fan of O.P.Nayyar. He had the inherent talent to transform even the most bizarre lyrics to catchy music. In 1962, comedian Om Prakash's brother A.S. Pachhi made a film 'Hong Kong' with Ashok Kumar as the hero and music by O.P.Nayyar.

The lyrics of songs of this film were very unusual. Take one, 'Kenya, Uganda, Tanganiyka' (Tanganiyka was the earlier name of Tanzania.

Listen to what an unforgettable lilting tune did O P Nayyar make of it. Just listen. And yes, Helen is unforgettqble too. And imagine who the lyricist was- the respected Raja Mehdi Ali Khan!
