Hold simultaneous elections to Parliament and State Assemblies.

Why should we not revert back to the earlier system of having the Parliamentary and state Assembly polls simultaneously? Just think of the enormous savings.As a starter why not impose President's Rule in the 5 states/UTs in November 2013 (which are schduled to go to polls in November) and have the Assembly elections there along with the Parliamentary elections in May 2014.

Saw a report in a newspaper about a Canadian play 'Anne of Green Gables' being performed by students of a school in Chandigarh....I may sound parochial but wonder what relevance has this play to Indian conditions....surely there are many good plays in Hindi and other Indian languages which can be staged...

Set up 500 special courts ...

Government may do well to set up 500 special courts to quickly try and give justice to the 90,000 and odd trials of rape cases reportedly pending in the country. Imagine the fear of law if those 90,000 accused are given stringent punishments within the next six months, of course following the due process of law!
